About Era House
If there is one thing people in every era have in common, it's great style. Inspired by the creativity, talents, and tastes of the people of the past, I started Era House because I became tickled, then consumed by the commonalities and patterns in humanity's aesthetic choices.
As trends change throughout the centuries, there are similarities we all share in common. We're comforted by the scents of sweet foods, spiritually soothed by ancient resins and oils, and energized by the sharp scents of woods and shores. And all around the world, we've adorned ourselves in gemstones, silvers, and golds. To express our creativity, feel regal, and connect to the earth and heavens.
My two permanent collections are two "Eras" that embody such an expansive, collective energy that they have transcended time and space:
Mediterrānea Adventūra is a tribute to the ancient stories and enduring legacy of the Mediterranean Sea. Athens, Rome, Egypt, Minoa . . . the wealth of knowledge and design from this region is unmatched. I have always been struck by the similarities in something like a 3,000 year-old hair comb and a tomb, both designed by our deep desire to adorn our lives with artistic tributes to myth and legend. A desire that continues with our modern obsession with the history and mythology of this beautiful region. This collection celebrates the legendary geography, architecture, and iconic characters of the Mediterranean.
The Great American Road Trip is a throwback to some of my own favorite childhood memories: a quintessential American summer, packed in the car to experience the beauty the continent, eating waffles and taking my first sips of coffee at a roadside diner. I was struck by how meaningful these sensory experiences were to not only me, but people I've met from around the world. To this day, nothing tastes better to me than a fresh cup of coffee in those white diner mugs. I hope this collection can bring back the same warm nostalgia for you.
My greatest desire for Era House is that it becomes a platform to promote the preservation and education of the world's incredible ancestral cultures, particularly those that may lack traditional access or funding. It is my hope to work with artists with like-minded values and goals. If this is you, please do not hesitate to reach out at erahouse@erahouse.shop.
