Mount Aetna Set
Mount Aetna Set
Named for Mount Etna (called Aetna in antiquity), the great Sicilian volcano of legend and truth. Ancient writers described Aetna as the divine forge of Hephaestus (Vulcan), where the god of fire and metalwork shaped weapons for the Olympians. Beneath its peak, the giant Typhon—vanquished by Zeus—was said to be imprisoned, his fury manifesting in the volcano’s eruptions. Both feared and venerated, Aetna symbolized the raw power of the gods, the volatility of nature, and the eternal cycle of destruction and renewal. Crafted from gold, golden sheen obsidian, and carnelian, these pieces invoke the fire and molten earth of the ancient world, a tribute to the enduring forces that shaped history and myth.
